Well some of Skanem’s Oil and Lubricant manufacturers and blenders are the most forward thinking customers towards sustainability. They are investing time and money into ensuring that their packaging is the most sustainable out there. Working closely with Skanem’s sustainable experts they are building road maps, ensuring that their packaging is fit for recyclability and it’s end of life recycling stream. They are investing both recycled plastics & the latest bio films, where the primary chemical comes from trees and carbon trust approved forests.
Together with our suppliers we have calculated the LCA (Life Cycle Analysis) of these raw materials versus the petrochemical version and the non-PCR (not recycled) version. Both options give significant CO2, water & energy savings during the manufacturing process of the films.
